4. The student could select a limited set of course modules without finishing a whole program. Because of the distant construction, the student material must be standardized and this makes it probable to serve dissimilar student profiles. Someone who is interested in a particular course could just by the material.
5. The material is more objective. The influence of a teacher on the learning process is less dominant.

DISADVANTAGES: 1. Little of less face-to-face contact with tutors. You miss the expression of a teacher, personal anecdotes, tips and emotion behind a story. The influence of a teacher could actually help you remember a variety of topics.
2. Discipline. Education on a distance necessitates some more discipline. Though there are new way to hold this issue, by scheduling online programs, but the student is more on its own.
3. The student environment. For a student, the life around a university is perhaps more significant and educational than a lean and mean online environment. Contacts with other student, the exchange of ideas and knowledge is priceless.
4. Image. A real university has one more and higher image. The brand of open or online university is of a lower quality.
