The University of Wisconsin at Madison offers Independent Learning Courses. Through Independent Learning you can continue your education via distance education courses without having to attend classes or workshops. Such courses are comfortable as you can complete assignments at your leisure and send to instructors for evaluation and critique. Distance education courses are open for university credit that you transfer to your degree program. You can start any course at any time, and take up to a year to complete each course. Many students find that the courses are accepted as transfer credits to satisfy degree requirements either at the University of Wisconsin or at other institutions.

     - Intermediate Algebra – 4 credit hours 
     - College Algebra  – 3 credit hours
     - Trigonometry – 2 credit hours
     - Algebra and Trigonometry (also called Precalculus) – 5 credit hours
     - Finite Mathematics – 3 credit hours
     - Calculus and Analytic Geometry I – 5 credit hours
     - Calculus and Analytic Geometry II – 5 credit hours
     - Calculus: Functions of Several Variables – 3 credit hours
     - Introduction to Statistical Methods – 3 credit hours

     Advanced Directed Study University Courses:
     - Techniques in Ordinary Differential Equations – 3 credit hours
     - Elementary Matrix and Linear Algebra – 3 credit hours
     - Introduction to Modern Algebra – 3 credit hours
     - Complex Analysis – 3 credit hours

Tuition fees per 1 credit hour – $260 per credit hour, plus a $75.00 administrative fee per course.
