Basic Music Theory. The course gives the introduction to music notation, meter and rhythm, scales, intervals, triads, seventh chords, fundamentals of harmonic progression, voice leading, aural skills, and composition. It was developed for nonmusic majors who have little or no previous background in the subject. It consists of 3 semester hours; 10 lessons, 2 exams. This is self-paced, print correspondence course.
