The Correspondence Courses Program provides an opportunity to enroll in and complete courses from Seattle Central Community College from the home or work. Such courses enable individuals to earn credits towards an A.A. or A.A.S. degree.
US History to 1877. This course reviews U.S. history from the migration of the first Native populations through Reconstruction. It focuses on encounters, territorial expansion and development of political, social, cultural, legal and economic institutions affecting the populations in regions that became the United States.
US History Since 1865. The course covers U.S. history from the Civil War to the present. It focuses on industrial and urban development, immigration, race, ethnicity and reform, politics, economics, social change, and Americans at war.
World Civilizations III. Here you can study the world civilization during the 19th and 20th centuries. This course gives the introduction to dramatic events and often-conflicting forces and ideologies affecting contemporary life. It accounts modern peoples' solutions to challenges and problems that confront civilization.
The correspondence courses are open enrollment. School year consists of two quarters (180 days), during which students are supposed to complete course requirements. Financial Aid may not be used for Continuous correspondence courses and full-time tuition fees are not applicable. Loan deferment eligibility is not available for these courses.
