Following Independent Study Program enables individuals to achieve their educational goals withouthaving to give up other aspects of their life. This program allows students to participate in a quality educational process and to choose where and when to study.

Composition I. In this course emphasis is made on critical thinking, reading, and writing clear and coherent essays that reflect an understanding of the writing process, rhetorical analysis, argumentation, and academic discourse. Prerequisite: English 099, or ACT verbal score of at least 18, or SAT verbal score of at least 440, or an Accuplacer test score of at least 95.

Composition II. It is a sequential course providing continued engagement with critical thinking, reading, argumentation, and using rhetorical techniques in academic writing. Here, emphasis is on research strategies. Prerequisite: Composition I.

Introduction to Literature. This course provides introduction to the three major literary genres: fiction, poetry, and drama. The main emphasis is on close reading and textual analysis.

Introduction to Literary Study. This course introduce to literary genres, major periods and writers, close reading and textual analysis, modern literary criticism, and research methods. Prerequisite: Composition II.

Masterpieces of Literature I – discovers significant writings in world literature from the ancients through the Renaissance and their backgrounds. Prerequisite: Composition II.

Masterpieces of Literature II – discovers significant writings in world literature from the 17th century to the present and their backgrounds. Prerequisite: Composition II.

Literature of England I. Here you can learn about literature and literary history of England from the Anglo-Saxon Period through the 18th Century.

Literature of England II. Explore literature and literary history of England in the Romantic, Victorian and Modern Periods with this course. Prerequisite: Composition II.

Literature of Science Fiction. This course studies imaginative literature of fact and fiction, reading, lectures, movies, and television.

Women in Literature. Here you can find an intensive study of literature written by women, in historical, cultural and critical contexts. Prerequisite: Composition II.

Women Writers of Science Fiction. The course investigates the classic and contemporary science fiction written by women.

Women Writers of Detective Fiction. This course surveys detective fiction by women from Agatha Christie to the present.

Rediscovering the Fairy Tale. The course learns everything about the Fairy Tale: its history, psychological basis, relationship to mythology, and transformations in poetry, film, music, and visual art.

Shakespeare. Here you can study representative works in various genres, with attention to cultural and critical contexts. Prerequisite: Composition II.

Novels into Film 1740-Present – provides a comparative study of great novels, 1740-present, and film versions of those novels.

The minimum time required to complete a course is 12 weeks.
Each course consists of 3 credit hours.

Tuition: $448.50 per 1 course.
