Soil Science

Bircham International University provides adult degree programs leading to a distance education university degree at professional, undergraduate and graduate levels through sound updated curricula and an innovative distance learning method of instruction.

Soil Science – presents the properties and mechanics of soil that govern the use of soil for purposes related to plant growth, construction, and conservation. Program topics include soil biology, chemistry, water, fertility, classification and surveys. The program relates these concepts to current soil management, wetland management, the use of Geographic Information Systems for soil mapping and much more. Here, the emphasis is on sustainable soil use and prepares the user to deal with today's environmental issues, such as soil and water conservation, nutrient management, sustainable agriculture, etc. The course contains 30 credits.
