Depending on particular course student’s total number, questionnaires may be given to some or to all the students. If a series of questionnaires is to be used for a course or program of study (for example, one questionnaire for each part of a course), the problem of answers rate decrease, with fewer students providing feedback on later parts of the course. Under such circumstances, it has been found that the decline in responses can be reduced by using target groups of respondents, i.e. sending the questionnaires for different parts of the students, so that each individual receives only one form to be completed. An increase in responses to the questionnaires on later parts of the course will normally compensate for any reduction in the total number of respondents for each part. So the average results will be quite god and will reflect the real situation.
Student Interviews. This type of collecting responses is widely criticized for the fear that the tests are organized especially for course writers or evaluator(s) and not necessarily on issues that are considered important by students. Of course except the figures results sometimes students are allowed to comment in a written form upon their results or upon the whole course. Interviews with students, conducted either face-to-face or by telephone, can provide a wide range of answers that are not limited or changed with the questionnaire peculiarities in transforming the results. Depending on the type of information sought, a highly structured interview schedule may be utilized or just a short list of key areas to be covered in a relatively free-flowing discussion.
Although interviews may be more time-consuming to conduct and analyze than questionnaires and may elicit responses from a smaller number of students, in-depth interviews are particularly useful for gaining a view of courses from the students' perspective.
Revising Courses A lot of data reviews and comments can be gathered from different sources for example from tutors, students, lectors and teachers. Parents can also be polled. There are different ways of conducting the researches and polls. Every such method has its weak and strong points according to the studied items or target questions or target audience.
