Survey of current methods, strategies, procedures, and materials for the teaching of reading. Field component included. The recommended minimum time for completion is 17 weeks. The course consists of 14 lessons, 1 final exam.
Survey of Exceptional Learners. An overview of exceptional children and youth and the philosophy of inclusion. Emphasis on individual differences among students with particular attention to students with special needs. The interrelated roles of regular and special education teachers and related professionals in adapting instruction to meet special needs will be addressed. The recommended minimum time for completion is 14 weeks. The course consists of 13 lessons, 1 final exam.
Students may register for these courses anytime. Admission to the University of Tennessee is not required. All of the above courses are correspondence. Each course consists of 3 credits.
