The humanities programs have the greatest number of graduates per year. Distance learning in humanities allows students to familiarize with many different aspects of art, literature, science and other liberal arts subjects. Distance courses of study were designed to be flexible, allowing the student to generalize across the various subject areas or to focus in on a particular area or areas of interest. Lots of associates or bachelor level graduates of humanities programs choose to focus and specialize and continue on to higher degrees or to specialize in a bachelor or master level program in one of the areas under the humanities department.
This discipline requires that students become analytical and creative thinkers while still using a humanistic approach to interpreting the data and information. The humanities also encourages the understanding of presenting information to people in both written and spoken formats, as well as using technology and new innovations in presentations and projects.
Humanities includes such disciplines: ancient and modern languages, literature, history, philosophy, religion, visual and performing arts (including music), technology, anthropology, area studies, communication studies and cultural studies, although these are often regarded as social sciences.
