Micro- and Macroeconomics

The Correspondence Courses Program provides an opportunity to enroll in and complete courses from Seattle Central Community College from the home or work. Such courses enable individuals to earn credits towards an A.A. or A.A.S. degree.

The correspondence courses are open enrollment. School year consists of two quarters (180 days), during which students are supposed to complete course requirements. Financial Aid may not be used for Continuous correspondence courses and full-time tuition fees are not applicable. Loan deferment eligibility is not available for these courses.

Microeconomics. The course covers resource allocation and income distribution with emphasis on price determination, production costs, and market structures. Moreover, it provides application of economic reasoning to such issues as unions, poverty, welfare, energy, and pollution.
Macroeconomics. Analysis of the aggregate economy: GNP, inflation, business cycles, unemployment, fiscal and monetary policies, federal deficits, and international trade and finance.
