Agricultural Economics

The Agribusiness Firm. It is an introduction to agribusiness firm characteristics and decision making. Here you can find overview of economic principles and the basic functions of management: planning, organizing, controlling, and direction. Specific topics include firm structure, forecasting, marketing and selling, budgeting, breakeven analysis, use of financial statements, capital investment, supervision, staffing, and evaluation. The recommended minimum time for completion is 21 weeks. The course consists of 20 lessons and 1 final exam. The online version of this course is also available. 

Natural Resource Economics. Nature of natural resources; economic efficiency as a basis for natural resource use; externalities in natural resource use; factors influencing environmental quality; alternative public policy tools for influencing natural resource use or improving environmental quality. The recommended minimum time for completion is 20 weeks.

Students may register for these courses anytime. Admission to the University of Tennessee is not required. Each course consists of 3 credits.
