Here is a list of courses in Business Studies available through the Centralia College:
Business English (5 credits). This course helps to edit such skills as grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling, and formatting techniques for office correspondence with application from rough draft copy, as well as will familiarize you with machine transcription basis, business communications, and office procedures.
Business Mathematics (5 credits) - brief review of arithmetic fundamentals including fractions, decimals, and percents and their application to a wide variety of business problems.
Legal Terminology (3 credits) - development of a legal vocabulary with emphasis on definitions and spelling. Upon completion of this course students should be able to recognize and use basic terminology used in the legal field.
Medical Terminology (4 credits) - development of a medical vocabulary with emphasis on definition and spelling. After course completion students should be able to recognize spoken medical terms, analyze word parts for meaning, and understand basic medical terminology.
Filing (3 credits). It teaches basic principles and procedures of records storage and management. The course provides sufficient practice in indexing, coding, and filing for alphabetic, numeric, subject, and geographic filing systems, and introduction to forms design.
