On-line Business Mathematics. Course topics include computing simple and compound interest, present values, annuities, and amortization. This online course presents practical mathematics for business and consumer financing. The course consists of 5 credits.
After finishing this course the student will be able to: - understand the key concepts behind an amortization table; - understand the concepts of depreciation; - compute & understand the discount process; - compute compound interest and present value; - read, analyze and interpret financial reports; - apply business statistics such as mean medium & mode; - calculate mark ups, mark downs & discounts; - plot frequency distributions & graphs; - calculate percentages and their applications.
Course prerequisite: familiarity with computers is a must, as well as familiarity with the following applications: browsers, i.e. Internet Explore; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Word.
