Business and its Environment. The course familiarizes students with nature of business and of economic, social, and political environments of business firms. Concepts of Marketing. The course provides an introduction to problems of manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers as they relate to modern marketing, market, and product. The course consists of 9 lessons and 1 exam.

Elements of Supervision – investigates concepts of modern-day supervision. In this course the emphasis is made on supervisor's major functions and development of sensitivity to human facets in management using behavioral science findings. The course consists of 9 lessons and 1 exam.

Small Business Operations. The course prepares students for selection and operation of small business. The course focuses at all major aspects confronting small-business operator, including finance, personnel, sales, and success and failure factors. The course consists of 6 lessons and 1 exam.

Independent Study: Personal Financial Planning. Here you can discover a project-based approach to the elements of personal financial planning, emphasizing knowledge and skills needed by those wanting to start their own businesses. Course topics covered include budgeting, investing, banking services, obtaining and using credit, tax strategies, planning for housing and transportation, various forms of insurance, and retirement planning. The course consists of 9 lessons.

Introduction to Business Computing. The course focuses on PC-based applications used in business and industry, such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation packages. Introduces Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003. Students, enrolled into this course must have access to Windows-based computer. The course consists of 10 lessons.

Managing Finance in Business. The course introduce students to basic concepts, principles, and analytical techniques of financing. Course emphasis is on planning and managing assets. Prerequisite: completion of the courses Financial Accounting Procedures or Managerial Accounting. The course consists of 10 lessons.

Concepts of Purchasing Management – analyses of purchasing operation’s structure and procedures. Here students learn descriptions of quality, quantity, value analysis, sources of supply, and procurement controls. Moreover, the course discovers vendor/buyer relationships, make-or-buy decisions, inventory control, buyer training, materials handling, records, and budgets. The course consists of 10 lessons and 1 exam.

Business Report Writing. Practice in planning and writing effective business letters, memoranda, and reports. Prerequisite: Tier I English course. The course consists of 15 lessons.

Advertising Concepts. It is a general course in advertising that emphasizes psychology, advertising agency, media research, brands, and labels. The course consists of 8 lessons and 1 exam.

Managerial Planning. The course introduces students to Computers, or equiv. It provides in-depth coverage of the planning process with emphasis on strategic planning. The case study approach is employed to develop skill in complex and difficult decision making. Students apply concepts to development of a business plan. The course consists of 7 lessons.

Concepts of Labor and Management Relations. The course provides a broad overview of micro- and macroeconomic theory as applied to the labor factor of production; the many problems related to the full utilization of human resources and government policies addressing these problems; the effects of unionism and labor-management relations including collective bargaining. Prerequisite: Principles of Microeconomics. The course consists of 3 lessons.

Government and Business – studies business and government relations, with emphasis on analysis of selected areas involving public policy and business. The course consists of 3 lessons.

Computer Applications for Management. It completes business plan begun in the course Managerial Planning. The course uses presentation software to create comprehensive business report that ties together overall curriculum. Prerequisite: Managerial Planning. The course consists of 8 lessons.

Special Topics: Fundamentals of Investing. An introduction to techniques of investing, emphasizing the development of a personal investment portfolio. Prerequisite: Independent Study: Personal Financial Planning. The course consists of 10 lessons and 1 exam.

Each course consists of 4 credit hours.
